Our Story

Pallu Politics started with a simple frustration: handloom sarees that took a weaver a week to make were sitting in stores for four times what the weaver was paid. We wanted to close that gap, without turning the saree into a museum piece nobody actually wears on a Tuesday.

We work directly with weaver clusters in Kanchipuram, Varanasi and rural West Bengal, paying fair, upfront rates regardless of how fast a piece sells. Every saree on this site carries the name of the region it was woven in, and where we can, the story of the family behind it.

What "politics" has to do with it

A pallu is never just fabric — it's how you carry yourself into a room. We named this place Pallu Politics because we believe six yards can hold an opinion: about who made your clothes, how long they took, and whether that mattered to you.

What we're not

We're not a museum and we're not a mass-market printer. Every fabric on this site is handloom or hand-finished. If a saree sells out, it may not come back — that's the nature of small-batch weaving, not a marketing tactic.
